I’ve always believed, all of us, I suppose, that writing is one of the greatest means to communicate unspoken ideas. Aldous Huxley tells us that « words can be like X-rays if you use them properly-they’ll go through anything. ». I’ve always believed that words can change the way we see, the way we think and, thus, the way we live. This is where the idea of this small dream first came from. As I was reading articles here and there one afternoon, I went and talked to one of the now member in this project and said ‘’I think we can change things if we write about them. ‘’ and she believed in me and she decided to walk with me through this journey. We made up a team of five amazingly talented people and we started to forge this project. I wanted to stick as much as possible to the vision I had the moment the idea came to my mind and I can, now, say that this vision has been transformed to reality. This reality is what you are reading now and what you will be reading every time we publish something new. I have also believed that the youth can have the impact we all dream to see, either in our country or in the world. That’s why I also asked the team to make this space one for a multiplicity of voices. Everyone who has words, everyone who thinks they can make a change is welcome. The objective of this blog / magazine is to write about different issues in different ways as we don’t all see the same things from the same point of view, right ? This magazine will not exclude any discipline for we will be writing about literature, about science, about what’s happening around us,about our issues and about how we imagine the world around us to be. A little imaginary escape has never hurt nobody, has it ? In this space we will let words be a powerful weapon ; we will speak our minds for, as Maya Angelou says it “There is no greater agony than bearing untold [words] inside you.” . This will also be a space for the creative souls ; those who write poetry, slam or even fiction. Readers are also included for they are encouraged to react to what will be published. We are always open to new suggestions ; you think you have an idea worth spreading ? Tell us about it ! Our writers team will also write about it. We also chose to name our magazine ‘’Youth’ink’’ and the name can actually be read in three different ways. ‘’You-Think ‘’ and the you here is –yes- you readers and how you’d think about many of our concerns and interests. ‘’Youth-Think’’ because, as afore mentioned, we believe in the impact youth has in changing the world. ‘’Youth-ink’’ with reference to words and letters. The title also echoes our belief that this little space of ours is not purely literary or scientific. It is both, and more and beyond. This was what I had in mind about the magazine,a project we are , the whole team, putting so many expectations on. We want to welcome you to our little space of thoughts and of creativity. May it bring benefit and interest to all our dear readers who make such ideas and projects possible and feasible.
